I shot this on a trip to Jamu Masjid mosque in New Delhi. I don’t know that I was aware of the moment that I caught when I took the picture, but it looks great printed 24×30″. Every character seems to be in just the right pose. Nick Hamilton said it reminded him of Rolande Barthes “Punctum.” (punctum denoting the wounding, personally touching detail which establishes a direct relationship with the object or person within it)
“A photograph’s punctum is that accident [of photographic detail] which pricks me (but also bruises me, is poignant to me)” – Roland Barthes.
