A Pratt student and friend Frank Rispoli had his MFA Thesis show opening tonight in Steuben. He’s been a fellow photography student for the past few years and has recently switched to ‘New Forms’ to create this colorful installation. He’s what we’d lovingly call in the UK a ‘mature student’ as he began his MFA in the ’70’s and has just finished. He continually amuses me with random stories of his time shooting in NY nightclubs including CBGB and even taught me the meaning and origin of ‘RCH‘ in measuring terms.

I liked the small sculpture tucked away in the corner that showed how he’d really like the work to look with 25 of the ‘mindmines’ in a completely white room. It reminded me of Mike’s work up at Hunter.
